TV SERIES CRAZE
5. Leverage (Current season - 2)
Halfway through its second season, Leverage comprise of a team of 5 individuals, each with their own unique skills. A grifter, a thief, a hacker, a hitter and a mastermind. Think of the Robin Hood story, where he steals from the rich to give back to the poor, Leverage follows the same concept, except that they are equipped with the latest technology, sometimes even ridiculously attained.
The ensemble cast in this show is one of the best I have seen put together as they seamlessly compliment each other. After a while, the show gets kinda predictable, but the con acts and screw jobs they do are still stunning, still smart and still makes you want to know whats next for the team. This show is ranked at no. 5 for me as it is currently on a break until Jan 2010.
If you need other reasons to watch this show, Parker's and Hardison's antics are worth the time.

4. Big Bang Theory (Current season - 3)
This show is something special. I have watched alot of shows that features geeks and nerds but none even comes close to what the cast of Leonard, Sheldon, Howard and Koothrappali can come up with.
The things that comes out of their mouth and make you go 'WHAAAAT?' as every single thing can be linked to theories and what scientific explaination I have no knowledge of. But that is part of their appeal, and what makes this show unique. If everything that Sheldon says is scripted, then give Jim Parsons the Emmy right now because I can't think of anyone else who can say what he says.
Storyline is pretty much straightforward, 2 geeks with high intellect and zero social skills, meet with the girl next door Penny who is pretty much the opposite of them. And the comedic reliefs comes when they are together. Funny stuff.
3. Gossip Girl (Current season - 3)
I have always thought Gossip Girl of a girly show as the title suggests, and that kinda deterred me from wanting to watch it. But after recommendation from a couple of friends, and the fact it is created by Josh Schwartz, creator of The OC and Chuck, two of my favorite shows, I started watching it.
Initially, the similarities with The OC were there for all to see. Most notable were the two main characters, tall, hot, model-looking Serena van der Woodsen, and her cute best friend, Blair Waldorf (Marissa Cooper and Summer Roberts anyone?) the hot but domineering mom, Lily van der Woodsen (Julie Cooper no?) the cool dad Rufus Humpfrey (ahhh Sandy Cohen) and the fact that it is set in an environment of rich and privileged families and private schools, it does sounds like The OC version 2.
But thats where the similarities end. What makes Gossip Girl so interesting is the ever changing plots and twists. Always surprising, always unpredictable. And the ridiculously pretty cast that they have, surely must be a plus point for fans eh?
2. Glee (Current season - 1)
My new guilty pleasure. Fans of HSM, move on already and jump on the Glee bandwagon. This talented cast of singers and dancers come together to create this wonderful tv series. I love everything about this show. The intricate choreography, the music which combines the old and the new, the lovable Emma Pillsbury, Sue Sylvester's antics, the realistic depiction in a sense that they don't just start singing and dancing out of a sudden cue HSM, but only during practice, shows or at the right place.
One of the best new TV shows right now. And again, Emma Pillsbury. :)
1. How I Met Your Mother (Current season - 5)
If you have never heard of this show before, you should be very ashamed of yourself. For our era and generation, we have a show to call our own like how ten years ago, they call Friends. I rank this show so highly and would consider it a cult classic already. The weird thing about the show is that it seems to get better with time and I believe this season is their best season yet with 5 impressive episodes so far. I will cry when the day of the final episode arrive but for now, there's no stopping them.
There's really nothing not to like. And how they could reuse old storylines and plots and carry them over to other seasons and link them so perfectly is beyond me. When you follow them from the first season, watching them go through important events like the Marshall and Lily's wedding, Stella leaving Ted out on the altar, even slapsgiving, you will grow attached to it. It's like you are growing up together with them. Barney Stinson may be a fan favourite, but Marshall Eriksen is my personal favourite. Everything that he says or do is pure gold.
If you haven't watched this before, shame on you!
